ARTIST STATEMENT SEDUCTION & GRAVITAS Jerrold Ballaine's first Bay Area exhibition in over a decade (he has been working and showing in Europe) is about the human form. Having studied under Diebenkorn at the San Francisco Art Institute, Bay Area Figurative is at the core of Ballaine's milieu. Ballaine has long painted like a sculptor. He now sculpts like a painter.
